About the Role

This position is for a Physician Assistant, Correctional Facility (CF) located at Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP) in Crescent City, CA, Del Norte County.

Under the supervision of the Chief Physician and Surgeon, the Physician Assistant, CF assesses and manages the health care needs of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings. The role may also include on-call duties with backup supervision by a physician manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations and therapeutic procedures.
  • Interpret routine laboratory and imaging results.
  • Educate and counsel patients regarding physical and mental health matters.
  • Provide care in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings.

Pay

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces the base salary by 3% for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 19, Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees, with 5 PLP 2025 leave credits granted monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions based on their time-base or hours worked.
