Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join an outpatient primary care team in Scotia, California. In this role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages, practicing under established clinical guidelines and collaborating closely with supervising physicians. This position offers a highly desirable four-day workweek in a collaborative clinic environment, dedicated to providing quality care to the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions for a diverse patient population.
- Care Management: Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate patient care with physicians and specialists as needed.
- Diagnostics & Prescriptions: Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with California regulations.
- Preventive Health: Administer immunizations and therapeutic injections. Provide preventive care services, including annual wellness exams, health screenings, and lifestyle/nutrition counseling.
- Specialized Care: Provide women's health services, family planning counseling, and STD screenings within the standard scope of practice.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of outpatient primary care experience is required (New graduates are not eligible for this role).
- Experience working with medically underserved or rural populations is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Current California Physician Assistant License in good standing.
- NCCPA Certification.
- Current DEA Registration (or eligibility to obtain).
- Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS Certifications.
- Eligibility for Medicare, Medi-Cal enrollment, and Partnership HealthPlan credentialing.
Position Details & Volume
- Patient Volume: Up to 24 patients per day.
- Call Requirements: Shared after-hours on-call rotation for urgent patient calls only.
- Shift Differential: Available for on-call coverage based on organizational policy.
