About the Role
Under the general direction of the Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physician & Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine/Family Practice [IM/FP]) provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility. Responsibilities include performing medical assessments, providing medical treatment, offering clinical consultation to midlevel providers and staff, and instructing nursing and clinical staff on medical protocols while adhering to professional medical standards of care. The role includes assigned on-call duties.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 16 (and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees) to have their base salary reduced by 4.62% and receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.
Employees physically located and assigned to this institution receive a 15% pay differential of their monthly base pay. This classification is eligible for Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) authorization with the following rates: P $26,677, Q $28,156, R $29,640.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical assessments and treatment to patients as authorized by medical license.
- Offer clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff.
- Instruct nursing and clinical staff on medical protocols and standards of care.
- Perform assigned on-call duties.
