Physician Advisor - Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

About the role

Atlantic Health is seeking a Physician Advisor to join our team at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction and leadership to the organization, focusing on best practice patient outcomes.
• Intervene when practice patterns or behaviors create disparities in pathway standards, intensity of service, severity of illness, patient and family rights, teamwork, or other issues regarding resource stewardship.
• Work closely with Case Management and administration to ensure compliance with medical necessity criteria, managed care business models, risk arrangements, peer review, performance profiling, utilization management, and other relevant areas.
• Engage in utilization-specific training from recognized organizations such as ABQAURP, AAPL, CPUR, IHI, ACPA, or ACMA.
• Be available to work on weekends and possibly weekdays or holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Board Certified MD/DO - any specialty encouraged to apply.
• Prior clinical experience in care and management of hospitalized patients.
• Experience in acute care case management-related functions is preferred.
• Experience with medical necessity criteria, managed care business models, risk arrangements, peer review, performance profiling, utilization management, and other relevant areas.
• Utilization-specific training from recognized organizations such as ABQAURP, AAPL, CPUR, IHI, ACPA, or ACMA preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.

Pay

$250,000–$280,000 base salary only; excludes any incentives

Schedule

Full-time availability, with flexibility to work weekends and occasional weekdays or holidays as needed.
