About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks a Clinical Trials Principal Investigator (PI) to lead Ryan White CARE Centers' research studies and ensure compliance with protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes problems and develops solutions to improve department effectiveness
• Collects and interprets medical information for patient care
• Orders laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
• Reviews and documents medical reports in the EMR
• Assists nurse practitioners/physician assistants with complex cases
• Researches and integrates evolving standards of care into problem-solving
• Maintains HIV metrics in key areas
• Learns and contributes to clinical meetings
• Participates in quality assurance activities
• Conducts chart audits for nurse practitioners
• Manages after-hours calls and represents the clinic at medical conferences
• Speaks at community health events and engages with the public
• Completes mandatory agency trainings

Requirements

• Medical degree recognized by the GCMB and licensure/license-eligible to practice medicine in Georgia
• One year of experience at the lower level Physician 1 (HCP160) or equivalent
