About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks a Clinical Trials Principal Investigator (PI) to lead Ryan White CARE Centers' research studies and ensure compliance with protocols and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes problems and develops solutions to improve department effectiveness
- Collects and interprets medical information for patient care
- Orders laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
- Reviews and documents medical reports in the EMR
- Assists nurse practitioners/physician assistants with complex cases
- Researches and integrates evolving standards of care into problem-solving
- Maintains HIV metrics in key areas
- Learns and contributes to clinical meetings
- Participates in quality assurance activities
- Conducts chart audits for nurse practitioners
- Manages after-hours calls and represents the clinic at medical conferences
- Speaks at community health events and engages with the public
- Completes mandatory agency trainings
Requirements
- Medical degree recognized by the GCMB and licensure/license-eligible to practice medicine in Georgia
- One year of experience at the lower level Physician 1 (HCP160) or equivalent

- License/certification as required for position
