What You’ll Do
- Keeps treatment areas (tables, equipment, and gym area) neat and clean.
- Serves as an aide, following the aide manual.
- Cleans hydroculators on a weekly basis, cold pack machines, and other equipment as necessary.
- Absents themselves from escorting patients to treatment areas.
- Prepares the treatment areas for patient care.
- Prepares modality treatments as supervised by the physical therapist including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis, and other modalities.
- Observes patients during treatments and reports orally to the physical therapist.
- Fills out exercise flowsheets as necessary.
- Aids in the orientation and training of new physical therapy technicians.
- Performs supply inventory and unpacks/checks-in supply orders.
- Maintains the supply closet in an orderly fashion.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Adheres to HIPAA/OSHA regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of physical therapy experience, medical office experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
- Able to react calmly and effectively under stress.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.
