Physical Therapy Technician

Position Highlights

Hours are between M-F 8-5.

Duties

• Prepares therapy patients for therapy sessions.
• Collaborates with both the nursing and therapy team to optimize appropriate therapy times.
• Affords assistance with treatments as directed by therapists.
• Makes note of patients during visits and notifies therapists of any patient distress or concerns.
• Affords assistance with transporting patients to wheelchairs/total lift chairs and transferring patients and equipment needed for therapy.
• Makes note and cleans therapy equipment, mats, etc., to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Assists with processing therapy orders, scheduling therapy appointments, completing documentation.
• Provides clerical support as needed to include but not limited to answering phones, prior authorizations, patient registration and scheduling, and miscellaneous needs as they arise.
• Affords assistance in setting up equipment.
• Makes note and maintains working stock of equipment, linens, and supplies for therapy services.

Essential Qualifications

• The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• A high school or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1 year patient care related experience.
