Physical Therapy Technician

About the Role

As our Physical Therapy Technician, you will help physical therapists and the department run smoothly so they can focus on patient care and efficiently deliver therapy services. You will perform a variety of administrative and support tasks under the direct supervision of a Staff Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile revenue, schedule appointments, and check charges for accuracy.
• Order and stock supplies, file documents, fax, answer phones, and scan documents.
• Clean treatment areas and maintain adherence to the Hospital's policies, procedures, Mission, and Philosophy.
• Chart Management and Documentation: Create new charts for orders and assessments, document appointment cancellations, and ensure all patient charts are complete, including signed notes and forms like Medicare and minor consents. Perform weekly and daily chart checks.
• Supply and Equipment Maintenance: Monitor, order, and stock supplies daily. Straighten the department and disinfect plinths/mats weekly.
• Communication and Administrative Support: Handle incoming mail, answer phones, direct calls, provide information on departmental policies, and assist with gathering information for reports.
• Charge and Financial Management: Ensure daily charges are completed, process and file records, and check daily revenue for completeness.
• Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments for various physical therapy clinics (including Underwood, Washburn, McClusky, Sheridan Memorial, and Turtle Lake, plus Turtle Lake OT and Speech for outpatient services). Notify relevant departments and personnel and remind therapists of overdue initial evaluations.
• Inventory Assistance: Assist with the yearly inventory process.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Strong communication skills.

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department available 24 hours a day. The hospital has been committed to providing quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. It offers 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, acute care services, on-site lab, radiology, CT, and physical therapy services.

Pay

$15.00 - $20.12 per hour.
