About the Role

As a Physical Therapy Resident at Ivy Rehab, you will be a full-time employee while completing the Ivy Rehab and Hospital for Special Surgery Orthopedic Residency Program. You will work with a diverse range of orthopedic patients, emphasizing personalized care and flexibility in creating individualized treatment plans. This role is part of a dedicated team providing world-class care in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).

The residency program is full-time (40 hours/week) within an outpatient orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
  • Active PT licensure in current state of practice, prior to Residency start date
  • Employed as a Full-time Therapist for at least 3 months by Ivy Rehab Network, prior to the program start date
  • Required membership in associated professional organization by the start of the residency
  • Commitment to successfully completing all program requirements, including independent study
  • Commitment to taking the ABPTS Orthopedic Clinical Specialist exam at earliest eligibility
  • Commitment to a minimum of two years of continued employment at Ivy Rehab, post-graduation from the program

Program Requirements

  • Completion of all required didactic modules (300+ hours)
  • Completion of all assessments, logs, and forms
  • Completion of Live Patient Examinations
  • Satisfactory completion of all skills lists
  • Passing of all required quizzes
  • Satisfactory completion of required presentations
  • Completion of case report abstract
  • Completion of Residency Special Project
  • Completion of 150 mentor hours
  • Complete a minimum of 1,500 patient care hours during the residency year
  • Attendance and participation in all scheduled residency education events
  • Satisfactory achievement of all resident core competencies

Financial Obligations

  • Program Tuition: $5,500 (payable in full or via a 1- or 2-year payment plan through paycheck deductions)

As a full-time employee of Ivy Rehab, you will maintain your salary commensurate with hours worked per week and retain your benefits during the program. A 2-year employment commitment post-graduation is required to satisfy Ivy Rehab’s financial investment in each participant.
