Essential Job Functions and Core Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance in monitoring departmental resources, including staff, equipment, supplies, and space.
  • Completes all required documentation.
  • Maintains professional development and ensures current clinical competency.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess patients and perform clinical responsibilities from a developmental perspective.
  • Evaluates patients and provides physical therapy services in accordance with department standards.
  • Participates in clinical education programs for physical therapy.
  • Develops and implements treatment programs relevant to one's area of specialization.
  • Engages in orientation and training of department and other hospital staff.
  • Promotes staff professional development through educational activities and serves as a resource in one's area of expertise.
  • Represents the department in inter-departmental functions as needed.
  • Participates in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control, quality improvement, and quality planning activities.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Minimum (Required): Graduate of a PT program accredited by CAPTE or equivalent per California PT Board requirements. Preferred (Not Required): Graduate of a PT program accredited by CAPTE or equivalent per California PT Board requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum (Required): Four years experience with evidence of advanced knowledge/expertise in a specialty area. Preferred (Not Required): Four years experience with evidence of advanced knowledge/expertise in a specialty area.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Minimum (Required): Current CA license as a Physical Therapist. Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly rate range for this position is $47.84 - $79.11. Position Summary

Provides physical therapy services as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team, primarily to adult and geriatric age groups with occasional, limited pediatric and adolescent patients. Acts as a resource in area of specialty. Participates in clinical education programs for students, in orientation/educational activities for staff and in program/service development.
