Physical Therapist - Full Time Days

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and plans specific treatment programs upon the referral of a physician.
• Treats and documents progress of patients in a timely fashion.
• Evaluates the extent of the disability through pertinent chart findings and objective evaluation procedures.
• Administers therapeutic exercise directly.
• Teaches rehabilitation techniques to overcome disability through the use of supportive devices.
• Aids in discharge planning.
• Maintains and cares for all therapeutic equipment in all patient areas.
• Instructs other health professionals, support personnel, and patients/families in proper safety and exercise programs.
• Captures and schedules assigned in-patients or out-patients.
• Maintains statistical reports as requested.
• Participates in a present in-service program as directed by Senior Education Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation Services.
• Records treatment data and progress notes in the medical records.
• Reports on patient progress at rounds or other clinical team meetings.
• Assists in departmental marketing and educates medical and other hospital staff about services provided by physical therapy.
• Supervises affiliated students as per assignment of the Senior Education Physical Therapist.

Requirements

Experience treating patients of all ages with all types of disabilities and multiple medical problems is required. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy is required, along with a New Jersey license and BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Capable of frequent lifting and transferring of weight of up to 300 pounds.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position.

$39.50/hour - $46.50/hour
