Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Per Diem

About the role

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital that provides world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients. Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) are integral in delivering compassionate, excellent treatment throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Transportation of patients
• Implementation of therapeutic exercises and functional activities
• Auxiliary work under the supervision of the physical therapist (PT)
• Training patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices

Requirements

• Valid state PTA license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for patient care and rehabilitation

Skills

• Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and procedures
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
