Physical Therapy Assistant - PTA

About the Role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being, following a plan of care established by a supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state laws and only perform procedures within their qualifications, reporting patient responses and changes to the supervising PT.
• Assist patients with active/passive exercises, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, document, and communicate patient progress and condition to healthcare team members.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on therapy techniques within scope.
• Operate effectively across diverse home environments, respecting all clients regardless of background.

Requirements

• Current license, registration, or certification eligible in the state of practice.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to reliable transportation.
• Availability for weekend rotations.
• Preferred: CPR certification and physical ability for patient mobility tasks.
