About the role

Under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, Staff Physical Therapist, or designee, the Physical Therapy Assistant performs designated skilled and routine tasks related to the operation of Physical Therapy services. The assistant aids the Physical Therapist with patient-related activities as directed and per the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.

The Physical Therapy Assistant actively collaborates with others to provide quality interdisciplinary care and participates in operational aspects of the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist with patient-related activities as directed and per the established plan of care.
• Support operational aspects of the department, including performance improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
• Monitor budget guidelines and ensure patient charges are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.
