Physical Therapy Assistant - Full Time
About the Role
The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Physical Therapist in the provision of physical therapy. The incumbent performs physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected and delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist, and may modify specific treatment procedures within the scope of the Physical Therapist's established treatment plan based on changes in patient status. The role includes documenting patient progress notes, safely and effectively providing physical therapy procedures, and addressing age-specific needs for all patients.
The incumbent treats patients and families with respect and dignity, assesses and manages pain according to department policy, and identifies and reports patient safety issues. Additionally, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinates workload in the department as directed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies
- Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice
- American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification
