Physical Therapy Assistant - Casual

About the role

Our Physical Therapy Assistants perform treatment per the therapist plan of care, assess the patient's response to treatment, and assist with discharge planning. They communicate with the lead therapist regarding progress and proposed changes to the plan of care. They utilize exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and education to improve the patient’s overall mobility, pain, and functional ability. Additionally, they provide education related to the treatment program, disease process, and prevention of further injuries to the patient, family/caregiver, and other members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed therapists.
• Absorb and implement the latest evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
• Assess patient responses to treatment and adjust the plan of care accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
• Document patient interactions and treatment sessions accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Graduate of an APTA accredited school offering a Physical Therapist Assistant two-year degree.
• Possess a valid WI licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Minimum of 1 year directly related experience preferred, but new graduates are considered.
• Experience in EPIC computer system.
