Physical Therapy Assistant

Primary Responsibilities

• Support Patients in one-on-one physical therapy sessions
• Administer treatment programs for patients
• Follow physical testing treatment plans and protocols as prescribed by physiotherapist
• Provide advice on exercise and follow strategies to implement at home to enhance and or maintain treatment, as written up in the treatment plan
• Help augment goals in collaboration with the patient and/or substitute decision maker and physiotherapist, as progress continues
• Collaborate with members of our inter-professional team through documentation and/or direct consultation
• Develop materials for use with patients, such as exercise handouts
• Prepare equipment for patient use, such as mobility aids, wheelchairs, and exercise equipment
• Enhance physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Document observations and patient progress in the clinical software (SOAP notes)
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
• Attend and contribute to patient care information sessions and staff meetings

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Strong computer skills that include web-based software, word processing, and patient documentation programs
• Excellent interpersonal skills, working within a multidisciplinary team and with other professions
• Keen observation and assessment skills
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patients
• Can-do, positive, supportive attitude towards patients and staff alike

$30.00-$50.00 per hour

Evening shift
Monday to Friday
