Physical Therapist Assistant – Hillcrest Millard Location: 13225 Westwood Lane, Omaha, NE 68144 Schedule: Full-Time Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our in-house rehabilitation team at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE. What You’ll Do As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist. You will use evidence-based techniques to help guests and residents improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, prevent disability, and work toward meaningful recovery goals. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team while communicating regularly with the onsite supervising Physical Therapist to share progress, address concerns, adjust treatment approaches, and support successful outcomes. You Will Provide treatments in accordance with established plans of care and evidence-based guidelines. Help guests and residents improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and independence. Educate guests, residents, and family members using clear communication, adult-learning principles, and sensitivity to individual cognitive and cultural needs. Complete accurate clinical documentation and charging to support therapy services. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, therapy team members, and other interdisciplinary partners to support care. Communicate regularly with the onsite supervising Physical Therapist regarding progress, concerns, goals, and treatment-plan needs. Assist with transition planning between service lines, including therapy recommendations, equipment needs, and handoff communication. Delegate appropriate tasks to therapy technicians and support personnel in accordance with federal and state regulations. Build and manage an efficient schedule while considering preferences, safety, cognitive needs, and productivity expectations. Identify guest, resident, and facility risks and take appropriate action related to safety, infection control, equipment needs, documentation, and patient handling. Assist in identifying individuals who may benefit from additional therapy or medical services. Participate in professional development, clinical education, presentations, and other activities that support the therapy profession. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with guests, residents, families, providers, and team members. Ability to follow established plans of care while using sound clinical judgment and communicating needs to the supervising therapist. Ability to manage multiple needs while maintaining quality care and accurate documentation. A calm, flexible, and professional approach in stressful or changing situations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and person-centered care. Comfort using technology and clinical resources efficiently and effectively. Education & Credentials Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required. Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Nebraska or a compact state required. Basic Life Support CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire. Why Hillcrest? Physical & Other Requirements Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, and movement as needed. Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful situations. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Must be able to utilize technology, clinical systems, and resources efficiently and effectively.
