About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. The PTA helps implement treatment plans, monitors patient progress, provides therapeutic exercises, manual therapy and all other therapy services within their scope of practice. The PTA ensures patient comfort and safety throughout therapy sessions while providing a WOW experience. This role plays a crucial part in improving patient mobility, reducing pain, and helping individuals regain independence in their daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery.
- Helps implement treatment plans, monitors patient progress, and provides therapeutic exercises, manual therapy and all other therapy services within their scope of practice.
- Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout therapy sessions.
- Provides a WOW experience to patients.
- Works with a wide range of patients, from adventurous outdoor enthusiasts to hardworking locals.
- Works closely with 4 other friendly PTs with specialties in pelvic floor, hand therapy, and sport and orthopedic backgrounds.
- Participates in a structured and detailed mentorship/leadership program.
- Engages in regular outings, including company fishing trips, white water rafting, family BBQ, paint parties, arcade nights, monthly hikes and much more!
Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current Alaska licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for outdoor adventure and willingness to embrace the unique challenges and rewards of living in Alaska.
