Physical Therapist - Travel Contract
About the role
Join a traveling Physical Therapist role in Largo, MD, within a Home Health setting where you will perform patient evaluations and provide therapeutic services according to physician orders.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient function
- Develop and update treatment plans
- Document patient progress
- Coordinate discharge planning
- Provide education to patients, families, and other agency personnel
- Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program recognized by relevant accrediting bodies
- A current, unencumbered physical therapy license in the state of assignment (Maryland) prior to assignment start
- A current CPR certification
- Familiarity with basic computer functions including email, internet navigation, and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to perform home visits, including reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Meet applicable state licensing or registration standards and perform duties in accordance with home health therapy regulations for the assigned state
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of physical therapy experience preferred
- Experience working in home health settings preferred
- Experience supervising PTAs or home health aides preferred
- Familiarity with state-specific home health therapy regulations and plan-of-care coordination preferred
Skills
- Skilled in providing physical therapy
- Effective communicator with the interdisciplinary team
- Proficient in basic computer functions
- Capable of performing home visits

Impact on Patient Care
Provide skilled physical therapy in accordance with the physician’s plan of care. Responsibilities include evaluating patient function, developing and updating treatment plans, documenting patient progress, coordinating discharge planning, and educating patients, families, and other agency personnel. Follow applicable state regulations for supervision of therapy assistants and documentation requirements. Timely communication with the interdisciplinary team is required to ensure continuity of care.
