About the role
Under the general supervision of the Manager and according to the established policies and procedures, plans and administers treatment and therapy programs designed to assist patients having various cognitive and physical disabilities to achieve their highest level of functional independence. Also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Plans and administers treatment and therapy programs for patients with various cognitive and physical disabilities.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure effective care delivery.
- Evaluates patients, plans care, provides treatment, assesses progress, adjusts goals and treatment plans, and makes discharge recommendations based on APTA guidelines.
- Ensures consideration of the age and developmental level of patients in all aspects of care.
- Provides accurate, timely, and consistent documentation of patient care, patient/family education, and response to care in the medical record.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, and families.
- Ensures all patient care goals are measurable and include a specific timeframe for attainment.
Requirements
- Licensure by the State of Florida as a Physical Therapist.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and various healthcare information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, applying sound judgment in clinical decision-making.
- Remains alert to changes in patients' conditions and the work environment, responding appropriately.
Skills
- Knowledge of APTA guidelines.
- Ability to evaluate patients, plan care, provide treatment, assess progress, adjust goals and treatment plans, and make discharge recommendations.
- Ability to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and families.
- Ability to document patient care accurately and consistently.
Benefits
- Eligible for remote work on site.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
Pay
- Minimum salary: $38.63 per hour.
