Physical Therapist Tech

About the role

Will assist in the operations of a physical therapy clinic including patient care, functional abilities testing ("lifts"), administration, confidential medical record management, and office maintenance/cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Assess vitals, supervise exercises and stretching, modality application (ultrasound, ice, heat, electrical stimulation, traction), and medical charting.
• Objective and unbiased assessment of a person’s ability to safely complete pre-determined tasks with proper mechanics (lift testing).
• Patient scheduling, copying, faxing, typing/computer use, and phone work (administrative responsibilities).
• Ensure confidentiality under HIPAA law, insurance authorizations, and filing medical records (medical record management).
• Table surface disinfecting, laundry, exercise and modality equipment care, and supply inventory and stocking (office maintenance and cleaning).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced education or trade school certificate (PT Tech, PTA, ATC, personal trainer) OR > 3 months experience in related fieldwork including anatomy, medical terminology, exercise.
• Current CPR documentation.
