Physical Therapist, Skillled Nursing Center (Call-In)
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy programs in the SNC under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy. They must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assess patient data to tailor care to age-specific needs.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved program is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
One year of experience working with geriatric rehabilitation populations, providing direct patient care, is preferred.
Special Employment Requirements
- Cleared by PA State Police criminal history check
- Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license required
- Preferred clinical affiliations in gerontology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- CPR certification required and must be maintained
Physical Demands
Medium work duties requiring occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., and constant lifting up to 10 lbs. throughout the shift. Bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting are involved. Safe patient positioning and transfer, as well as ambulation and balance instruction, are essential. Transporting oneself throughout the facility is required.
Accident or Health Hazards
Occasional exposure to blood and body substances, and exposure to chemicals for casting, splinting, and cleaning solutions.
Working Conditions
Works in an open gym area with other staff members or on floors with restorative nursing staff.
