About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on premise supervision of the Physical Therapist, in compliance with state law governing the practice of Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of PA.

Responsibilities

• Administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on premise supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department – adolescent through geriatric.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Absesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
• Provides the care needed as described in the Physical Therapy Department's policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• New graduate acceptable.
• One (1) to two (2) years Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred.
• Cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
• Licensed as a PTA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Excellent communication skills required for effective communication with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Attains and maintains certification of CPR.
