About the role

At Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR) at Waxahachie, we specialize in acute care and embrace its inherent complexities, including a fast-paced environment. This is where the patient's rehabilitation journey begins—whether following trauma, myocardial infarction, orthopedic surgery, stroke, or an intensive care stay. We provide a robust professional support and development system, including programs for new graduates, advanced proactive mentoring, board certification preparation, and clinical instructor training.

Responsibilities

  • Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment
  • Timely and accurate documentation
  • Interpreting assessment/diagnostic data including medical notes and surgery reports
  • Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately
  • Promoting continuous quality improvement
  • Instructing and counseling patients/families as needed

Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required

Pay

Starting salary: $83,928.00

Sign-on bonus: $5,500
