About the role

As a Physical Therapist, you play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, restore mobility, and rebuild confidence following illness, injury, or surgery. Working closely with physicians and the care team, you’ll assess each patient’s needs and create personalized therapy plans designed around meaningful goals, active engagement, and exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning through synthesizing evaluation data from initial patient assessment, medical history, and physician orders to develop a comprehensive plan of care
  • Communicate and interact with patients, families, and others in a caring, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Receive, interpret, and implement physician orders accurately and in a courteous manner; consult resources to clarify unfamiliar or questionable orders
  • Evaluate patient abilities and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions that restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life
  • Monitor progress, refine therapy plans, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices that promote independence
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and smooth transitions throughout recovery
  • Lead by example—mentoring therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s values of excellence, compassion, and integrity

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
  • B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy
  • State of Florida licensure as a Physical Therapist
  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
