Physical Therapist Per Diem
About the Role
The Physical Therapist Per Diem will develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans of care and anticipated outcomes for each patient based on a written and signed Physician's order or prescription. Responsibilities include adapting treatment plans according to patient response, demonstrating effective teaching skills, assisting in discharge planning, and documenting assessments and progress notes.
Responsibilities
- Develop proper therapeutic treatment plans of care and anticipated outcomes for each patient in accordance with physician orders, considering patient age and developmental factors.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient response or ineffectiveness, as documented in the medical record.
- Demonstrate effective teaching skills with patients, family members, and caregivers while maintaining patient safety during treatment sessions.
- Assist in discharge planning in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
- Document initial assessments, reassessments, and progress notes in compliance with department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's degree, or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Current New Jersey State license and registration in Physical Therapy or eligibility.
- Analytic ability, independent judgment, and strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, students, peers, and other healthcare professionals.
- BLS Certification approved by the American Heart Association.
Previous experience is preferred but not required; new graduates are acceptable.
Pay
Salary Range: $41.09 - $67.82 USD per hour. Compensation is determined by factors such as job-related experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Additional compensation may include clinical certification pay and shift differentials for eligible positions. The listed range reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
