About the Role

Miami Valley Hospital North is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist for outpatient care. This position offers flexible scheduling with options for 8, 9, or 10-hour days. The role involves general outpatient therapy with potential patient populations including women’s health (pelvic health), lymphedema, oncology, neuro, vestibular, and/or running.

The Physical Therapist assumes a dynamic leadership role on interdisciplinary patient care teams, identifying patient care needs, developing plans of care and goals in collaboration with patients, and providing a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of practice. The therapist also provides education and support to patients and families, and facilitates continuing care planning.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, treats, documents, delegates, and discharges patients per service guidelines.
  • Engages in interdisciplinary patient care management.
  • Bills appropriately for services and supplies provided through matching documentation and service charges.
  • Provides oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Participates in programs and service performance improvement activities.
  • Manages caseload per department standards.
  • Engages in patient satisfaction efforts and ensures all patients have a satisfying experience.
  • Passes all required hospital and department competencies and applies them to everyday performance.
  • Participates in staff management, cost management, and professional practice activities.
  • Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the department while demonstrating excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Physical Therapy license in the State of Ohio.
  • Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Experience

  • No prior job-related work experience required.
  • Preferred experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience.
