When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. $10,000 sign on bonus available for a limited time Lahey in Lexington 40-hour day/evening position with flexible scheduling options including 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts. Our Lexington location is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team of highly passionate physical and occupational therapists with the goal of providing exceptional care to our wide variety of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient using appropriate testing methods and instrumentation, appropriately records and interprets all findings, and identifies patient needs.
  • Formulates a detailed assessment based upon findings of the examination.
  • Develops treatment plan and patient outcomes, incorporating the input of the patient, their family and other health professionals.
  • Safely and effectively implements the treatment intervention.
  • Engages a high degree of patient motivation and cooperation in treatment, as evidenced by patient compliance with treatment intervention.
  • Provides patient/family education during therapy and in preparation for discharge.
  • Counsels with other allied health professionals as needed.
  • Discontinues unproductive treatment to patients where indicated.
  • Transfers patient to nursing or other appropriate staff when physical therapy services are no longer required, or when the patient has achieved their treatment goals and outcomes.
  • Documents discharge summary per department policy.
  • Maintains thorough and accurate medical record documentation in accordance with the department policy and procedures.
  • Maintains strict adherence to the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Confidentiality Policy.
  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.

Requirements

  • Education: BS Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Active MA Physical Therapy license OR Candidates for licensure who have submitted a complete and accepted application for licensure “BY EXAMINATION ONLY” American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.

  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy theory and practice.
  • Ability to observe, assess and record objective findings, symptoms, reactions and progress.
  • Skills in critical judgement and thinking.
  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses, and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the patient.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy services, facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to assess individual patient needs.
  • Skill in maintaining patient medical record.
  • Knowledge of range of therapy methods and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart confidential information.

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
