About the role

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients/clients including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. The Physical Therapist has mastered basic technical, manual, and organizational physical therapy skills. There is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach.

Responsibilities

  • Works cooperatively with physicians and care team to develop care and treatment plans that are appropriate especially as it relates to fall risk, interventions, and home safety.
  • Provides physical therapy services to patients.
  • Performs a skilled evaluation through impairment testing with interpretation of the findings that relate to functional deficits.
  • Affirms muscle strength, mobility, gait, range of motion and pain and selects appropriate treatment and assistive devices, instructing patient, family and/or caregivers on use of devices.
  • Collaborates with the medical team to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries and syndromes including but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, headaches, orthopedic injuries, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, foot pain, hand, elbow, hip, and knee pain.
  • Provides manual therapy, exercise therapy, postural training and retaining of musculoskeletal alignment and movement patterns.
  • Demonstrates and instructs patient/caregiver on body mechanics.
  • Diagnostics and manages movement dysfunction and enhances physical functional abilities.
  • Reports client’s response to treatment or changes in condition to referring provider through written documentation and/or consultation.
  • Counsels patient and family regarding treatments and modalities and programs.
  • Prepares clinical and progress summaries.

Requirements

  • Mastery of basic technical, manual, and organizational physical therapy skills.
  • Focus on outcomes and systematic approach to care.
  • Collaboration with physicians and care team to develop care and treatment plans.
  • Evaluation of patient’s condition and development of individualized plans tailored to each client based on physician’s orders.
  • Enhancement of strength, range of motion, flexibility, mechanical alignment, and minimization of pain or discomfort to improve function.
  • Manual therapy, exercise therapy, postural training, and instruction on body mechanics.
  • Diagnosis and management of movement dysfunction and enhancement of physical functional abilities.
  • Reporting client's response to treatment or changes in condition to referring provider through written documentation and/or consultation.
  • Counseling patient and family regarding treatments and modalities and programs.
  • Preparation of clinical and progress summaries.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist through the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy.
  • Current Arizona State Physical Therapy license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certificate.
