About the role

Evaluating, planning and administering treatment to Fred Hutch patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
Administering and interpreting tests and measurements of muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
Instructing patients and their caregivers/families in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, and other equipment or devices.
Maintaining patient documentation, including writing initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, home programs, and insurance authorization requirements.
Devising special tools and treatment methods for the specific needs of each patient served.
Evaluating treatment goals and progress towards these goals.
Serving as a clinical resource for all Fred Hutch departments and clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, planning and administering treatment to Fred Hutch patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
  • Administering and interpreting tests and measurements of muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
  • Instructing patients and their caregivers/families in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, and other equipment or devices.
  • Maintaining patient documentation, including writing initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, home programs, and insurance authorization requirements.
  • Devising special tools and treatment methods for the specific needs of each patient served.
  • Evaluating treatment goals and progress towards these goals.
  • Serving as a clinical resource for all Fred Hutch departments and clinicians.
  • Completing other duties as assigned by Physical Therapy Manager to meet the mission of the department, which may include educational lectures, student instruction, networking to other clinical services, volunteer supervision, process improvement activities, and/or quality improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical physical therapy experience.
  • WA State Physical Therapy License (or meet DOH criteria for the Physical Therapist Compact Privilege).
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is from $55.00 to $86.93, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
