Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Requirements

  • Current California Physical Therapy License
  • Completion of a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialty Certification (BOC) or equivalent
  • Experience in a correctional setting preferred
  • Knowledge of correctional healthcare policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • At least one year of experience in a correctional setting
  • Experience with patient assessment and treatment planning
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The monthly part-time salary range for this position is $5139.00 to $7624.80.

Schedule

This part time position will be working 36 hours per week.

About the Role

California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC) is located in Lancaster, CA, which is 45 miles north of Los Angeles, CA. Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physical Therapist I, CF administers physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility.
