Physical Therapist I, Correctional Facility - California Institution for Men (CIM)

Job Description And Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

The Part-time position will be working 12 hours per week.

The monthly salary range for this position is $1,713 to $2,541.

Interprets to patients the significance of physical therapy services.

Complies with all the applicable State and federal laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy program.

Maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and maintains the safety of persons and property and the security of working areas and work materials.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current license as a Physical Therapist in the State of California.
• Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a correctional setting.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of physical therapy.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of patient care in a correctional setting.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of infection control.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of emergency response.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of substance abuse treatment.
