About the role
Baton Rouge General is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist specializing in Lymphedema at our Bluebonnet Campus.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized physical therapy treatment programs for patients while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement therapeutic programs including strength, mobility, coordination, and gait training.
- Provide patient and family education including home exercise programs.
- Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Document evaluations, treatments, and progress according to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
- Recommend equipment, home modifications, and other discharge needs.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to therapy staff and students.
- Provide staff education and contribute to clinical training programs.
- Support specialty services and maintain referral networks.
- Participate in policy development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Attend continuing education and maintain licensure.
- Work across multiple clinical settings as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Louisiana licensure as a Physical Therapist (required).
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
- Preferred: Continuing education or certification in a specialty area (Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics).
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Strong communication, teaching, and patient-education skills.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing specialized patient populations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
