Physical therapist- Full time Lymphedema- Bluebonnet Campus

About the role

Baton Rouge General is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist specializing in Lymphedema at our Bluebonnet Campus.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized physical therapy treatment programs for patients while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement therapeutic programs including strength, mobility, coordination, and gait training.
• Provide patient and family education including home exercise programs.
• Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and progress according to regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
• Recommend equipment, home modifications, and other discharge needs.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to therapy staff and students.
• Provide staff education and contribute to clinical training programs.
• Support specialty services and maintain referral networks.
• Participate in policy development and performance improvement initiatives.
• Attend continuing education and maintain licensure.
• Work across multiple clinical settings as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current Louisiana licensure as a Physical Therapist (required).
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Preferred: Continuing education or certification in a specialty area (Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics).
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Strong communication, teaching, and patient-education skills.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing specialized patient populations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
