Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with lymphedema of the upper extremities, lower extremities, head/neck, breast and genitals using Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT).
  • Guides patients through their lymphedema maintenance program, including measuring for custom and ready-to-wear garments, developing home exercise programs, and assisting with the process of obtaining specialized equipment such as pneumatic compression pumps.
  • Collaborates closely with other hospital departments and fosters teamwork to deliver high-quality care to patients.
  • Affords expert, patient-centered care and improves the quality of life for individuals with lymphedema and related conditions.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed training with a certified lymphedema training course (e.g., Klose Training, Norton Training).
  • Active MA Physical Therapy license.
  • Absolutely required to be American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years as a licensed physical therapist with professional, clinical experience in a physical therapy setting.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy theory and practice.
  • Ability to observe, assess and record objective findings, symptoms, reactions and progress.
  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses, and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the patient.
  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy services, facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to assess individual patient needs.
  • Skill in maintaining patient medical record.
  • Knowledge of range of therapy methods and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentorship.

Pay

The pay range listed for this position is $41.08 – $57.52.
