About the role
Physical therapists help people with physical injuries or illnesses regain range of movement and control their pain. They evaluate patients, provide therapy, maintain records, supervise staff, communicate with patients and colleagues, and participate in continuing education.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to obtain data necessary for treatment.
- Provide physical therapy treatment to patients per the Plan of Care and in accordance with the physician’s prescription.
- Maintain required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with department requirements.
- Effectively supervise and promote clinical development of LPTA’s, rehab techs, interns, and volunteers.
- Maintain an appropriate daily schedule to maximize departmental efficiency and ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
- Participate in educational and professional activities that enhance self, co-workers, and patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- Advanced clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, industrial medicine, neurology, rheumatology or gerontology preferred.
- Current Florida licensure required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two years of clinical experience, with 1 in an outpatient setting preferred.
