About the role

Plans, organizes, and delivers physical therapy programs to help clients recover and improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities. Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for individuals affected by injury or disease, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques while following safeguards. Documents client information for evaluation, establishes and modifies therapeutic plans as needed, and educates clients and their families about treatment plans and home exercises.

Demonstrates knowledge of age-related treatments and current research, adhering to clinical practice guidelines. Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules and participates in activities promoting the department and organization. May supervise assistants, aides, and students, and provide ongoing education and training to peers. Performs other duties as requested by management.

Based on facility needs, may focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients affected by injury or disease.
  • Administer physical therapy interventions using appropriate tools and techniques while following safeguards.
  • Document client information for evaluation and establish or modify therapeutic plans as necessary.
  • Educate clients and their families about treatment plans, schedules, and self-exercises for home continuation.
  • Utilize age-related treatments and current research in daily client care.
  • Adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with variable work schedules and assignments.
  • Participate in activities promoting the department and organization.
  • Interact with providers, case managers, third-party payers, and other external individuals or organizations.
  • Supervise assistants, aides, and students as needed.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by manager.

Requirements

  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state(s) of practice.
  • Valid driver’s license when applicable.
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Pay

  • Salary range: $37.50 - $62.00 per hour
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (eligibility requirements apply)

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Day shifts, 8 hours per day
  • Weekly hours: 40

Location: 1301 50th St E, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077, near the Twin Cities with restaurants, stores, and amenities nearby. Recently updated therapy gym and facility.
