About the Role
Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, performs objective assessments and develops comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. Provides general supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform objective assessments for adult and geriatric patients.
- Develop and implement comprehensive individualized treatment programs.
- Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision to rehabilitation technicians.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants in compliance with State Practice Acts.
Requirements
- Current State license in Physical Therapy.
- Bachelor’s, Master of Science, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Current or temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
- BLS certification (must be current before independently caring for patients).
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months to one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.
- Experience in caring for adult and geriatric patients.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
