PHYSICAL THERAPIST-BSDC
Job Description
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Physical Therapist II to join the interdisciplinary team at the Beatrice State Developmental Center (BSDC).
In this rewarding role, you will provide specialized physical therapy services designed to improve mobility, restore function, relieve pain, and enhance quality of life for individuals with complex physical and developmental needs.
You will develop and administer individualized treatment programs, collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams, and help ensure the highest standards of therapeutic care are delivered.
What You’ll Do
- Hands-on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and ice/heat.
- Using exercises, stretching, equipment and hands-on therapy to manage patients’ pain, increase mobility and prevent further pain and injury.
- Recording patient progress and modifying the plan of care if needed.
- Developing individualized patient treatment plans.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy plus two years of experience in working with special needs clients.
- PREFERRED Qualifications: Physical Therapist with experience with DD/ID population.
