About the role

As a Physical Therapist at Wesley Rehabilitation Center, you evaluate and treat patients, consistently modifying Physical Therapy programs to decrease or eliminate pain and/or dysfunction. You will utilize different methods of treatment based on diagnosis and injury, and work as part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients, modifying Physical Therapy programs to decrease or eliminate pain and/or dysfunction using different treatment methods based on diagnosis or injury.
  • Develop and implement a written treatment plan based on assessment interpretation, including measurable goals relative to the patient’s age-specific needs and diagnosis.
  • Communicate verbally with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding the patient’s disability, treatment plan, safety issues, and expected outcomes.
  • Provide discharge planning and a written discharge summary for patients continuing rehabilitation at another facility.
  • Document all patient-related activities thoroughly, clearly, and timely, ensuring compliance with medical center policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students during clinical affiliations and provide education sessions to patients, families, physicians, healthcare staff, students, or other groups on relevant topics.
  • Monitor compliance with all applicable laws and regulations from government or third-party entities.
  • Assist the organization in incorporating guiding principles into education practices and creating an environment responsive to change.
  • Consistently meet established productivity requirements.
  • Contact physicians and office staff to promote Rehab services and Wesley Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy.
  • Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Kansas.
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (or Occupational Therapy, as noted in the posting).
