Physical Therapist
Oviedo Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team and provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
About the role
The Physical Therapist (PT) manages the complete process of therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients in coordination with physicians and the patient care team. Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to support patients throughout the continuum of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status, participating in the development of the total plan of care.
- Deliver purposeful and skilled therapeutic care using procedures and techniques to produce changes in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices outside of therapy sessions.
- Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs, and coordinate assignments/handoffs.
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) in the state of practice.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
