About the Role

The position is under the general direction of the Facility Manager. The main focus is on providing superior outpatient rehabilitation services through a collaborative care model with physicians to optimize performance and enhance the quality of function for patients. This clinician will work at the growing Mount Prospect location with a primarily orthopedic caseload and enjoy ancillary support to concentrate on patients. Experience with hockey and overhead athletes is preferred. The therapist will coordinate with HPI trainers and their athletes on-site.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care
• Interpret physician orders, perform initial evaluations, and establish treatment plans and functional goals
• Upgrade and amend treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care
• Written documentation on patient status to physicians per compliance guidelines
• Determine appropriate discharge timeline and follow-up
• Supervise Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed
• Compliance with daily paperwork; document all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (initial evals, daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP)
• Stay current with billing policies and demonstrate ethical billing practices
• Maintain active state license by earning appropriate CEUs through outside courses and IBJI-sponsored educational opportunities
• Develop positive relationships with physician teams at IBJI
• Take an active role in the patient medical team: office visits with physicians, contact with case managers, etc.
• Participate in IBJI-sponsored programs: Mentoring, clinical educator, special interest groups, community outreach

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
• Licensed or eligible to sit for boards in the state of Illinois
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
• Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing
• Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
• Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
