Responsibilities
- Assess functional status, strength, and mobility to create tailored care plans matching physician orders.
- Provide skilled physical therapy procedures to improve movement and independence.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers safe exercises, adaptive methods, and proper use of assistive devices.
- Record accurate treatment outcomes and adjust care plans in a timely manner.
- Coordinate transitions of care with doctors, nurses, and other specialists.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Minimum 1 year experience, preferred in an acute care setting.
- Active state physical therapy license (e.g., Florida Department of Health).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift or move patients and equipment up to 50 pounds.
