Physical Therapist

About the role

Alaris Health at Care Connection Rahway, a 24-bed skilled nursing center in Rahway, New Jersey, seeks a physical therapist to organize and conduct physical therapy programs for the Center to facilitate rehabilitation and direct client participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents, develop appropriate treatment goals and methods, and implement the physical therapy treatment plan.
• Design and fit adaptive devices and train residents how to use adaptive devices.
• Select physical agent modalities suited to each individual’s needs, physical capacity, mobility activities, and diagnosis.
• Instruct residents in the skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities and evaluate their progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential.
• Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
• Attend and contribute to resident care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
• Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards.
• Conduct training programs and participate in training medical, nursing, and other personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.

Requirements

• Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association and certified by the American Physical Therapy Association per its requirements.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of New Jersey.
