The Position

Napa County is currently recruiting to fill one Physical Therapist (PT) vacancy within the Public Health Services Division (PHS) of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA).

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and providing direct therapeutic interventions.
  • Developing and implementing individualized plans with functional goals.
  • Assessing, recommending, and supporting procurement of durable medical equipment (DME) and orthotics.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate Experience providing pediatric physical therapy services in a clinic, school, or other client-facing environment, including work with children and youth with special health care needs.

Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple evaluations, treatment sessions, equipment requests, and documentation efficiently.

Flexibility and adaptability in handling varied work assignments and schedule changes.

Strong, clear, and compassionate communication that supports teamwork and builds trust with patients, families, and colleagues.

Able to resolve conflict effectively while maintaining relationships with others.

Strong commitment and demonstrated history of positive teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience: To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:
  • None required.
  • Education: Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California. OR Physical Therapist License Applicant (PTLA) status: application for licensure has been filed and reviewed by the Physical Therapy Board of California. Licensure must be complete within 6 months of hire date. Must be able to provide proof that licensure has been filed and reviewed by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
  • License/Certification: Possession of a valid California Driver's License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Selection Process

The most qualified candidates from Oral Panel Interviews will be placed on the eligibility list and referred to the hiring manager for further consideration.
