Job Summary
Aids patients/residents/clients in therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of a physical therapist to enhance their quality of life and daily functioning. Implements and modifies therapeutic activities based on patient's/resident's/client's goals and the practice setting. Communicates patient's/resident's/client's responses and progress to the physical therapist. Adheres to clinical practice guidelines and follows established protocols.
Qualifications
- Appropriate education level as per state licensure requirements
- Graduate from an APTA-approved Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant state(s)
- Complies with supervision and licensing standards of the state(s)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment
- Valid driver's license when applicable
