About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to improve overall well-being, following a plan of care under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment procedures as permitted by state laws and trained qualifications, reporting patient responses and condition changes.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in exercises, gait, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Coordinate care with healthcare team members, ensuring appropriate documentation and communication.
• Adapt to diverse home environments, respecting all patient backgrounds.
• Deliver direct patient care through visits, documentation, and education.
• Collaborate with team members and adhere to legal and safety standards.
• Work flexibly across various home settings.

Requirements

• Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy assistance.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to transportation.
• Availability for weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification.
• Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and transferring.
