Responsibilities

  • Carries out treatment plans established by the physical therapist including progression of patient to attain functional goals as deemed appropriate by patient status and normal progression.
  • Provides exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting.
  • Written documentation on patient status per compliance guidelines of IBJI Rehab.
  • Periodic written communication to physicians through progress notes and discharges after consulting with the supervising PT regarding assessment and plan, and co-signed by PTF.
  • Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding appropriate patient progression, discharge and patient follow up.
  • Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed.
  • Compliance with daily paperwork which includes documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP, etc).
  • Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices.
  • Maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEU’s through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities.
  • Develops positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI.
  • Takes an active role in the patient medical team by facilitating relationships with PT’s, MD’s and case managers as appropriately directed by supervising PT.
  • Participates in IBJI sponsored programs including mentoring, clinical educator, special interest groups, community outreach, etc.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
  • Holds current license to practice in Illinois.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Able to lift greater than 25 pounds.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing.
  • Able to be stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes.
  • Able to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day.

Pay

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
