Physical Security Design Engineer

A professional organization is seeking a Physical Security Design Engineer for a remote role This position focuses on creating detailed physical security drawings and documentation for internal security projects, with occasional onsite visits as needed.About the Opportunity:Schedule: Monday through FridayHours: Standard businessSetting: Remote (EST or CST)Responsibilities:Create and maintain security system drawings using AutoCAD and RevitDevelop detailed layouts for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related physical security systemsInterpret design notes, redlines, and project requirements to produce accurate technical documentationCoordinate with engineers, project leaders, and field teams to support design accuracy and completenessPerform quality checks on drawings and update documentation based on site changes and project revisionsQualifications:3 to 5+ years of experience in CAD drafting, security systems design, or low-voltage system designExperience with physical security systems, including access control and CCTVProficiency in AutoCADWorking knowledge of RevitAbility to read, interpret, and update technical drawings and specificationsDesired Skills:Experience with data center security designFamiliarity with intrusion alarms or fire-related systemsExposure to enterprise, healthcare, university, or smaller-shop environmentsKnowledge of industry standards and codes such as NFPA, NEC, or UL 294Experience with access control platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Software House, or HoneywellFamiliarity with generative AI tools for drafting or workflow support
