Physical Education/Health Teacher (PreK-8), Itinerant (Home School location Jepson)

About the role

The successful candidate will teach Physical Education and Health to students in grades PreK-8 at Jepson and Edgewood schools within the New Haven Public Schools district.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging physical education and health lessons aligned with state standards.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Incorporate health education into daily routines and activities.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects.
• Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the district.

Requirements

• Physical Education certification required.
• Health certification preferred.
• Must possess and maintain the necessary certification as per Connecticut State Statutes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with PreK-8 students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse classroom and adapt to different learning styles.

Pay

Salary is contingent upon degree and years of experience, ranging from $53,220 to $108,047.
